1. ACA marketplace plans
Under the Affordable Care Act, qualified health plans on the participating exchanges cover ten essential health benefits. Those include preventive care, prescription drugs, hospitalization, emergency services, and mental health, with no exclusion for a pre-existing condition.
Multi-state ACA coverage
We are licensed to enroll clients through Healthcare.gov for participating states, and through state-run exchanges where we can place coverage.
New York State of Health
In New York we have full access to the state exchange, including the Essential Plan for eligible New Yorkers and Child Health Plus.
Subsidies and tax credits
Most marketplace enrollees qualify for an Advanced Premium Tax Credit or cost-sharing reductions that lower the monthly premium and the out-of-pocket limit. We calculate the subsidy for the exchange you are actually using.
2. Private and off-exchange plans
If you do not qualify for a marketplace subsidy, or you want a different network, we place off-exchange health plans directly with major regional and national insurers.
3. When Medicare is next
Moving from an individual plan or from employer coverage onto Medicare is its own project. As a certified Medicare broker we walk through Advantage, Medigap, Part D, and dual-eligible options. The full picture is on the Medicare page.
4. Dental, vision, and supplemental protection
A health plan still leaves gaps. We use dental, vision, accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity coverage to keep a high deductible from becoming a household emergency. Details are on the supplemental page.
Why use an independent broker?
A single-carrier agent can only show you that company’s shelf. We compare carriers, explain the network and the deductible in ordinary language, and stay available after the plan starts. You get one person for the marketplace, Medicare, life insurance, and — if you own the business — the group plan.
